RTC644220 is an oversize piston assembly (+0.020) for the 2.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated diesel engine. Fitted into a rebored cylinder, the piston forms the moving face of the combustion chamber and, via the piston pin, transmits combustion forces to the connecting rod. Piston rings (fitted separately) control oil consumption and seal combustion gases; the +0.020 size is specified to match cylinders that have been machined and rebored. The assembly includes ring grooves machined to accept the standard piston rings used on this engine family and is intended for use following bore rework.
