RTC6862 is a front axle CV joint for non-ABS vehicles. Fitted to the front axle of early non-ABS Defender models up to VIN KA930455, this is a 33 spline unit and will fit either side of the front axle. The joint transfers drive torque from the halfshaft to the wheel hub while accommodating steering angle and vertical suspension movement. Inspect the joint regularly for torn gaiters, grease leakage or excessive play, as damaged gaiters allow contaminants in and accelerate wear. When replacing, confirm the vehicle VIN and spline count match this RTC6862 unit to the existing halfshaft and hub interfaces.
