SJG100220 is a Brake Servo Assembly. Fitted between the brake pedal and the master cylinder, the servo uses engine vacuum to reduce pedal effort and amplify the driver's input to the master cylinder. Mounted directly to the master cylinder and located behind it, the booster accepts vacuum from the inlet manifold and converts differential pressure into additional braking force at the master cylinder push rod, improving braking response. The unit seals against the servo body with a square-shaped gasket (part number DCP7304L); correct seating and sealing are important to maintain vacuum integrity and consistent brake feel. This assembly is supplied as the complete brake booster unit for fitment to Freelander L314 models up to the VIN limit shown below.
