Land Rover Part Number: SOB500042 - Right-Hand Rear Brake Caliper
SOB500042 is a right-hand rear brake caliper. This standard floating caliper fits the rear brake assembly and is not compatible with models fitted with Brembo brakes. The caliper houses the piston and sliding hardware that clamp the rear brake pads onto the disc; as a floating unit the body slides on guide pins so a single piston applies pressure to one pad while the caliper body moves to contact the opposite pad. It locates to the rear brake mounting bracket and connects to the brake hose, with hydraulic pressure moving the piston to generate braking torque at the rear wheels. Replacement should match left/right orientation and the vehicle's specified caliper type to avoid fitment issues or braking imbalance.
Please note: The matching left-hand caliper is SOB500052; copper sealing washers are not included and are supplied with the brake hose LR058009.
