STC1184 is a 3-pin distributor ignition amplifier fitted to distributors on 3.5 and 3.9 litre Rover V8 engines. It conditions the low-level pickup signal and provides a switched output for the ignition coil primary so the coil is driven with the correct timing and characteristics. The amplifier is located with the distributor electronics and interprets the magnetic or electronic pickup waveform to ensure reliable coil switching and ignition timing.
Please note: When replacing a 2-pin amplifier you will also require link lead STC1212 to use this 3-pin amplifier.
