STC1258 is a front brake caliper - right hand. Fitted to the right-front wheel of Discovery 1 models with solid non-vented front discs, this hydraulic caliper houses the piston that actuates the brake pads and provides mounting points for the carrier and guide pins. Under hydraulic pressure the piston(s) press the pads onto the solid front disc to create braking friction; the unit also includes a bleed nipple for routine brake-fluid maintenance and pairs with the left-hand caliper, part number STC1259.
