STC64720 is a piston and rings assembly, 0.020 inch (0.58mm) oversize, for the 3.9 EFi V8. Supplied complete with piston, piston rings and gudgeon pin, this unit matches the piston, ring and gudgeon pin specification for the 3.9 EFi V8 fitted to Range Rover Classic models with engine codes 35D (manual) and 36D (automatic). The piston transfers combustion forces to the connecting rod, the piston rings provide sealing for combustion gases and oil control, and the gudgeon pin secures the piston to the small end of the connecting rod while allowing the necessary pivoting movement during each stroke.
