STC820 is an oil pump gear and shaft repair kit for LT77 five-speed manual transmissions. Fitted to the oil pump inside the LT77, the kit supplies replacement pump gears and the pump drive shaft to restore the internal drive elements that move gearbox oil. Restoring the pump drive re-establishes internal oil circulation and pressure required for transmission lubrication and temperature control; worn or damaged pump gears or a worn drive shaft can reduce oil flow and pressure and increase wear on synchromesh, bearings and gear teeth. The kit applies to LT77 five-speed transmissions fitted to Land Rover Defender models from 1987 to 2006 and covers extension case and oil pump applications to suffix F inclusive. Fitment should be confirmed against the vehicle V.I.N. before ordering to match transmission suffix and case variant.
