STC881 is a 501 wedge bulb installed in the automatic gearbox selector housing to illuminate the gear selection indicator. The lamp provides low-profile illumination for the selector assembly; it must not be substituted with a W5W 5 Watt bulb, as higher wattage can overheat and damage the thin illuminated gear indicator strip.
