TED000020 is a transmission oil pan fitted to the external area of the 5 Speed Automatic Steptronic transmission on 4.4 V8 petrol (M62 B44) engines. The pan forms the lower enclosure and reservoir for transmission oil, provides the sealed mounting and physical location for the transmission filter and drain plug, and allows drained fluid to be collected during service and gives access for filter replacement and fluid change procedures.
