Land Rover Part Number: TOQ000040 - Intermediate Shaft Bearing Assembly - Propshaft
TOQ000040 is an Intermediate Shaft Bearing Assembly - Propshaft that locates and supports the viscous coupling within the propeller shaft. The assembly provides a pair of hanger bearings which support and align the viscous coupling on Freelander 1 models fitted with 1.8 K Series, Td4 and early 2.5 KV6 engines; the bearings take radial and some axial loads from the coupling and maintain concentric rotation between the front and rear sections of the propshaft. Worn or failed bearings commonly produce a whining or high-pitched noise during acceleration, often described as similar to an aeroplane taking off, and replacement restores support for the viscous coupling and reduces excessive movement of the propshaft joint.

Frequently Asked Questions
The TOQ000040 assembly provides two hanger bearings that support and align the viscous coupling inside the Freelander propshaft, taking radial and some axial loads and maintaining concentric rotation between the front and rear shaft sections.
