TRC103160E is an R380 five-speed manual transmission assembly fitted to Land Rover Defender models. The gearbox transfers engine torque through selectable gear ratios using an input shaft, layshaft and mainshaft; synchromesh units and selector forks provide smooth gear engagement and a reverse idler gearset supplies reverse drive. The assembly mounts to the engine bellhousing and couples to the propshaft and transfer box, and is built to accept a range of petrol and diesel engine torque inputs across Defender applications.
