TUD101830 is a Mainshaft Pinion for the R380 5-speed manual transmission fitted to Td5 models. Fitted to the input end of the mainshaft, this pinion is the primary mechanical interface that accepts rotational input from the clutch and transfers that torque into the gearbox gearset. It works with the mainshaft splines, bearings and gear cluster to maintain axial location and rotational alignment under load; wear or damage can cause gear noise, difficulty selecting gears or increased end float within the transmission.
