URB000070 is a clutch cover assembly fitted to the flywheel and clutch assembly of 1.8L 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engines with a manual transmission. It locates over the clutch friction disc and fastens to the engine flywheel, providing the clamp that holds the disc against the flywheel surface; the diaphragm spring within the cover generates the clamping force that transfers engine torque through the friction disc to the gearbox input shaft when the clutch is engaged. During disengagement the clutch release bearing acts on the diaphragm fingers to relieve pressure and allow the friction disc to rotate independently of the flywheel. The assembly therefore forms the mechanical interface between the engine crankshaft and the manual transmission on Freelander models fitted with the 1.8L K-Series petrol engine.
