YLE500090 is an Alternator Assembly fitted to the V8 Discovery 2 engine. It supplies the battery and the vehicle's electrical systems while the engine is running and helps maintain charging during cranking and idle conditions. The unit includes the rotor, stator and integral voltage regulation to maintain system voltage under varying electrical loads; routine replacement restores charging performance when the original unit shows reduced output, excessive noise or bearing wear.
